City Recruiting Volunteers For Downtown Business Walk
Vista’s Economic Development works to improve the community’s economic well-being, thus enhancing the quality of life for Vista residents. Yet, it is more than just creating and retaining jobs. It is also about retaining residents – especially young people who want jobs and are seeking opportunities. In Vista, that means working directly with the business community to have a diverse and trained workforce with skills that match business needs. Annually, the City conducts a survey of the business climate and is seeking volunteers to assist in this.
The City of Vista in partnership with the Vista Village Business Association (VVBA) is holding the Vista CARE's Paseo Santa Fe Business Walk on Wednesday, May 31, from 8 am to 2 pm in the Central Vista Business Improvement District - encompassing the Historic Downtown, Paseo Santa Fe and Vista Village Shopping Center. The kick-off event will take place at 8 am at the Historic AVO Playhouse, located at 303 Main Street in downtown Vista.
The City of Vista annually conducts a survey of the business climate in the city's Business Park with the help of local volunteers. Due to its great success, the City is expanding the walk to the Paseo Santa Fe/downtown corridor. The survey responses generate a simple, easy-to-read report that decision makers can use to help strengthen their local businesses. The power of the Business Walk is that individual business owners and managers have the opportunity to meet with the business and civic leadership of Vista who have the ability to act on their behalf to ensure a prosperous business climate. The event provides a full day dedicated to learning more about local businesses through face-to-face surveys and interviews.
