City Streamlines Permitting for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

The Vista City Council adopted an ordinance on August 8 authorizing the City Building Official to expedite plan reviews and building permits to streamline processing and permitting for electric vehicle charging stations.  In 2015, the California Legislature passed Assembly Bill 1236 to promote the use of electric vehicles statewide and cities with populations under 200,000 are required to adopt an ordinance before September 30, 2017.

Sound of Prop Gun Shots May Be Heard During Moonlight’s Performances

The sounds of blank shots from a prop gun may be heard around Brengle Terrace Park during the rehearsals and performances of the Moonlight Amphitheatre’s Sunset Boulevard production. The Moonlight Amphitheatre is located in Brengle Terrace Park, 1200 Vale Terrace Drive in Vista. The  production runs August 16 through September 2.

Early Childhood Ed Prepares For a Lifetime of Learning

Registration is open for the City’s Early Childhood Education program. Run by the Recreation Division, the program prepares young children for a lifetime of learning.  Instructors introduce social interaction, letters, numbers, colors and much more to the children. Sessions and dates are available on the City’s website or by calling 760.643.1573.

Junior Deputy Academy Instill Decision Making Skills

August 14, 2017 | 12:00 pm

The  Junior Deputy Academy begins September 7 for ages 10 to 16 years. The 11-week character building session is free and taught by Vista Sheriff Station’s deputies. Participants learn about decision making skills; good citizenship; the importance of discipline and the role of the Sheriff's Department. Role-playing; physical training; guest speakers and demonstrations are included in the program.
